Rules and Regulations for Ms. Monk

Physical Science 2007

Our email addressed are cmonk3@hotmail.com   or cathi.monk@cobbk12.org   Any questions you may have can usually be answered by going to    www.xcpope.com  and clicking on Monk’s classes at the very bottom of the site.  I can also be emailed from this site.  Please email me from the site within the first week of classes so I can place you in an address book for important announcements regarding tests and upcoming assignments. _________ It is the student and parent’s responsibility to stay updated on the student’s grade on the I Parent internet site.  Grades will be updated approximately every 2-3 weeks however if you are going to check grades daily remember that any absences or zeros may not have been updated.   I am available before school for any extra help from 7:30-8:00 for anyone who requests assistance.

I will provide you with the necessary information and materials to do well in this class.  It is then you who must do the work and learning in order to perform accordingly.  Remember a stupid question is a question that isn’t asked!!  Put forth your best effort, be proud of what and who you are, and never give up your quest for success.

 

Here are the necessary rules and regulations that will apply to all students while learning science in my classroom.

1.        All students must report to class on time everyday.  Tardies will not be tolerated!!  All students must follow the school tardy policy. 

2.        Be prepared for class each day.  Students should have their own paper, pencil/pen, notebook, calculator, and textbook daily.

3.        Pencils should be sharpened before the bell rings.

4.        ALL books need to be covered to avoid fines at the end of the semester.

5.        Homework/classwork must be completed on a daily basis.  All completed work should be kept in a notebook that can be checked at any time and will count as a daily grade.

6.        All students must participate in all activities.  This includes laboratories and group work.

7.        If time permits at the end of the period, all students are to work on homework until the bell rings.

8.        You can expect me to respect you and be courteous to you.  In return I expect you to respect and be courteous to me and everyone in the classroom.

 

Classroom procedures:

  1. All students should be in their seat when the bell rings.
  2. Homework should be turned in to the yellow homework basket prior to the late bell ringing.
  3. All students must raise their hand if they have a question or need to leave their seat.
  4. Absent work can be made up by using the makeup calendar and acquiring all the necessary work from the make-up file.  This information is located in the maroon crate at the entrance to room 94.
  5. Students have the number of days to turn up make-up work that they are absent. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!  Make-up work should be turned into the yellow bin.
  6. At the end of the period all students are to remain in their seat until I dismiss you.
  7. NO I-PODS or any type of electronic devise can be used during class except a calculator.

 

*** In order to make room 92/94 a brighter place ALL students are asked to bring in 1 item from the following list: paper towels, hand soap, Windex, scissors, metric ruler, glue, magic markers, colored pencils or anything else that would help our classroomJ

 

Your grade will be based on the following approximated percentages:

Daily (Classwork, Homework, quizzes)             25%

Labs                                                                       25%

Tests                                                                      35%

Final/EOCT                                                           15%
