Congratulations to Miles for being selected to the MDJ ALL County team and the ATC All Metro team.

There will be a meeting for all those that are interested in Track and Field at the beginning of December.

Let's get ready POPE:) XC practice begins for ALL athletes on Wednesday, 8/1 at 8:00am on the PHS track. In order to participate you must have a completed physical form.

Congratulations to Zandi Debowles who was named the AJC Track and Field athlete of the year!!!!!!

2007-2008 Physical Information

Miles has a GREAT race at the State meet and runs 4:16 to finish 3rd in the 1600!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to WILL JOHNSON who signed with Furman University to run Track !!!!!

**POPE GIRLS TAKE 3rd AT STATE**

Congratulations to ZANDI who is the 2007 STATE CHAMPION in the High Jump!!! She also places 2nd in the 300m hurdles with a new school record of 43.3, and 3rd in the LJ with a new school record of 18'6.5"

Saskia is the State runner up in the triple jump and set a new school record of 38' 6"!!!

The 4 x 400m relay team of Claire, Alyska, Saskia and Zandi finished 4th with incredible anchor leg by Zandi

The girls team places 2nd at the McEachern Invitational. Zandi sets a new meet record in the HJ, Saskia wins the TJ, Miles runs one of the fastest times ever for a Pope 800m runner and Will continues his hurdle prowess in the 110 hurdles. CONGRATS and let's get ready for Region!!!!! results

At the Challenge of Champions, Zandi places 3rd in the HJ and 2nd in the LJ while Saskia WINS the TJ and Miles is a champion in the mile!!!!

Below are forms passed out at the Pizza Party last Wednesday. Your child should be registered and dues paid by now, and parents should have signed up for volunteer positions. If not, email Linda Chiappone at jlchiappone@bellsouth.net to make arrangements on turning it in.

Work parties to clean up the track & field facilities are scheduled for Monday 2/19 at 1:00pm, and Sunday 2/25 1:30pm. Bring yard tools.

Parent/Student Pizza party is on Thursday, 2/22 from 6:30-8:00 in the cafeteria.

Time Trial Results

Mandatory Practice begins for ALL athletes on Monday, January 29 :)
Those athletes that are still involved in a winter sport should notify any track Coach and then plan on attending practice once their winter sport is completed.
